With the battery out connect the device to the computer.
Go to Options and select "connection settings"
Select USB PIN this may take a few moments since there is no battery in the device. you might even have to select detect device in some rare cases.
Select the application loader icon.

Proceed to the end portion untill you see the "Finish" button.
Very IMPORTANT. do not hit the finish button, instead select the ADVANCED button.
Make sure both boxes are checked.

I am T-zone
subscriber with Unlimited t-zones plan. Can I use IM+ for BlackBerry?
T-Mobile recently started blocking port 80 on the Unlimited t-zones plan ($4.99) and the Unlimited ]
t-zones Pro plan ($9.99).
In order to use IM+ for BlackBerry via T-Mobile GPRS you now have to upgrade
to the Unlimited T-Mobile Internet ($19.99 - port 80 open).
With Unlimited T-Mobile Internet you still can use IM+ with TCP/IP connection type
if your BlackBerry OS is 4.0 or higher and TCP/IP connection is enabled on your device. You can select Direct
TCP or leave the Default connection option as BB transport.
I am getting an error message saying: "
The following modules could not be loaded because their digital signatures were invalid".

What is BES and what is MDS?
Are they obligatory for using IM+?
BES is BlackBerry Enterprise Server. It is a secure corporate solution which is designed to be
an entry point of wireless traffic into wired world.
If you are corporate user, MDS should be enabled for your account on your BES server.
But MDS/BES is not obligatory for using IM+. You can use IM+ with your wireless carrier's
TCP/IP or WAP connection.
It could be because of your device is not configured properly for Internet access.
To find out whether you proper service books installed, you should go to Options/Service Books
and looking for an entry called "Desktop [IPPP]" or something similar.
1. If you are a BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) user.
Your BES administrator should obligatory enable Mobile Data Service (MDS)
for your account. After MDS is enabled for your account but the problem still
remains it means that you do not have an appropriate IPPP service
book entry. You have to sync your device with your PC to get the IPPP Service Book
installed on your device.
2. If you are a standalone user:
In IM+ go to Settings / Connection and select "Direct TCP".
If it doesn't help, please contact your wireless carrier and find out if they have to create IPPP
service book account for your device.
Please try to soft reboot your BlackBerry with the key sequence ALT-CAP-BACKSPACE (press ALT and CAP
simultaneously, then press DEL/BACKSPACE).
If you are BlackBerry 7520/7510 user you need to remove the battery from the device for a minute.
To avoid this situation in future, don't press the ESC button on your handset while Web or email content
is loaded onto your device. If you want to stop loading of content, select "Stop" from the
list of available options.
I get a message saying: "The application
IM_2_BES has attempted to open a connection to the location inside the firewall which
is not allowed by your IT policy".
You have to disable firewall on your device: Options-> Security Options-> Firewall.
Then please press Menu button and select Edit default permissions and change all values to Allow.
If it doesn't help, please, ask your network administrator to allow outgoing connection (open port 80).
What is Server polling rate in IM+ connection settings?
This option is available for HTTP connection. You can set up the time interval in minutes between
connections to the IM+ GATE Server f you are idle (not sending messages or changing status). The higher
this value, the less traffic IM+ will produce. However, if someone sends you a message when you are idle,
you will receive it in the worst case only after the indicated interval.
Just decide which time interval is the best for your purposes and enter it.
