Re: IM+ for Skype 4.0 with VoIP support

Hello,
i am testing the skype app (7 days trial) right now, because IM+ All In One has troubles showing all my skype contacts. And skype is what i am using nearly every day on my phone.
I like that you added avatars! All my contacts that should be shown as online are shown as online. Not working on IM+AllInOne right now!
I think, some things could be done like in IM+ All In One. The own statusmessage, for example, could be shown in mainscreen, and not only in the menu. Your own Avatar with Statusmessage would be fine :)
The icon on the mainscreen of the BlackBerry should be highlighted (green frame on IM+AIO) to show you that skype is still active in the background.
Activ chats could be shown sepperatly and not in the list... Is better in Grid Mode, for List Mode it's ok to show the active chats on the top.
These are peanuts but i think it would change the look and feel!

Did i understand this correctly, VOIP is only available over WIFI for now?

Thx, i am thinking about it to purchase the app if IM+AIO has this annoying issues...
kind regards,
Manuel

Yes, VoIP is only available over Wi-Fi for now.
We plan to support VoIP over 3G/EDGE connections in future.

Hello,

Since I ve been looking for a full skype solution for my BB bold 9700 I finally
found IM+ .
I downloaded the trial and trying it out right now, I just need a few questions answered before I buy the full version.

I live in Germany and my Carrier is O2, they support skype in general as the only German carrier who does that.

I am trying to communicate with my girlfriend in the USA.
I bought an unlimited country plan for the US at Skype and also bought my US online number at skype, so my girlfriend
can call me at local charges.

With IM+ 4.0 VOIP calls are free if you are using Wifi as I understood your changelog notes.
So my girlfriend calls me on my online skype number and i receive the call on my IM+ and do not
have to pay any charges neither skypeout credits nor voice data charges?
And when I am calling her within Wifi I also dont have to pay any charges neither skypeout credits nor voice data charges? (I am having an unlimited country USA plan at skype).

What is it then about this callback number the application asks me for?

And how is it working if I am not WiFi coveraged? Do I then have to pay any skype-out or voice data charges?
Thanks a lot for a quick answer because my IM+ trial is almost over and I would love to register.

IM+ for Skype asks you for the callback number in case "VoIP preferred" or "Callback only" is selected at "Settings" - "General" within the application, i.e. callback mode may be activated to place or receive the calls. Please learn more about calls in callback mode and about the charges at http://wap.shapeservices.com/blackberry ... e=callback

If you want to place and receive VoIP calls, please select "VoIP only" at "Settings" - "General", then callback mode will be disabled.

In "VoIP preferred" mode IM+ for Skype switches to callback mode automatically if there is no Wi-Fi connection available.

Please install IM+ Talk onto your device (you may get the trial version at wap.shapeservices.com).

Then run the application and put your Skype name and password (you may create your Skype account using desktop Skype client).

Make sure you have stable Wi-Fi connection on your device; also make sure you have "VoIP only" or "VoIP preferred" enabled at

"Settings" - "General" within the application.

Then please select "Call" - "Call phone" form the menu and put the number you want to call. Note that you would need to have SkypeOut credits to place the calls.

Please also note that Skype-to-Skype calls are free for VoIP mode.

The charges are equal to standard Skype rates (http://www.skype.com/intl/en-us/prices/)
